hyperbole.

An Extravagant exaggeration.
You Oughta Know - Alanis Morissette

This word brings me back to the 6th grade. I distinctly remember learning that in Mrs. Sarvers class. Seriously. Hyperbole. Sometimes I miss those days. Before the racing hormones, before work, and most importantly before BILLS, debt, heartbreak, ending of friendships, spam, anthrax, a piercing gone wrong.... man. Damn.

MAN I miss the 6th grade! Big up the class of '96! Shaun.. you GOTTA remember these...

Every girl had one of these dudes, then they started coming in assorted colors! They also came out with those little mini book bag back pack thing-a-ma-bobs. But I don't feel like googling that.

See anybody who was anybody had a Jansport. But that isn't what made you cool. First of all your book bag could NOT look like the image above...
1. Your Jansport could NEVER be seen in the "I just bought my bag shape". It's supposed to slant so if you seen it from the side it should be shaped like a ""less than symbol.
2. Where are the tags? Your friends are supposed to mark your bag up with their real name, their aka, your group name, or your class.. 6S (holler).
3. Where are the strings that hang from the zipper. you had to at LEAST had three strings on each zipper.

4. Patches. If they weren't on your jeans, they were definitely on your Jansport. http://www.laughinglizards.com/

The Silver bubble jacket, My dream that never came true. However in the 7th grade when everyone had Bears (bubble coat), I begged my Grandmother for a bubble jacket... BEGGED. She got me one alright, A NEON ORANGE FIRST DOWN that came down to my KNEES. She bought the same jacket for me AND a cousin of mine. Boy did the general public let us have about THAT coat. MAN! But lets stay away from the subject of middle school. K? Let us not go down that GOD forsaken road!

ALANIS MORISSSETTE. JAGGED LITTLE PILL. THIS.... requires no explanation.

Yea we gambled a 'lil bit.

Everybody loved them, but not everyone (including myself) could draw them. It wasn't about making the "S" and dots. It had to be even. I'm talking perfect. Shoutouts to Aiofe! LOL! She also had really nice penmanship. I remember that.

Lastly, the shoe of all shoes, Jellies. My guess is that one out of every four girls you saw in '96 had a pair of these. WTF was so hot about these plastic sandals that had the NERVE to fog up when it was hot out? LOL!... Damn!

That damn hyperbole took me down memory lane.

1-the bubble jackets. I had a reverable Bear jacket. Blue and red. Blue and goddamn red. seriously.

2- why did i go out to toys r us and buy pogs. and then choose not to plat because i loved my pogs so much. i had the mean bubblegum smelling slammer. everyone wanted it.

3- aoife? i only hav one memory of aoife in 6th grade. and she was wearing a sailor shirt. wierd....
